Authentic, traditional mozzarella is made from pure water buffalo milk in Campania, Italy.

Pomella Mozzarella di Bufala is air freighted every 10 days to 2 weeks direct from Italy. The history of Mozzarella is linked to that of the water buffalo. Nobody really knows exactly when the first water buffalo came to Italy, but one account claims that it was in the year 596 AD when they were brought across the Mediteranean. This often copied but never duplicated gem is a fresh, drawn-curd (pasta filata) cheese made from whole buffalo milk. It is porcelain-white in color, spherical in shape with a very thin glossy rind.

Mozzarella di Bufala has a springy texture and a pleasantly lactic taste with a faint mossy smell, reminiscent of the humid grazing fields of Southern Italy. Each ball comes individually packed in its own brine.

Real Italian buffalo mozzarella has a harmonious balance between the creamy sweetness of the milk and the delicate yet distinctive complexity of the herb and musk aromas. When cut, it exudes a few droplets of a whitish whey-like liquid, a true sign of the best quality.

If you've never had the real Mozzarella before, it's definitely time you tasted this sublime delicacy. The authenticity of Pomella Mozzarella di Bufala is guaranteed by "D.O.P." (Protected denomination of origin)
