Japanese mayonnaise, typically made with rice vinegar, tastes somewhat different from ordinary mayonaise.Slightly sweeter, usually complementary to sushi and Japanese cuisine, comes in a plastic squeezable bottle. The brand of Japanese mayonaise called Kupi featured heavily in series three of Masterchef Australia. While Japanes mayo has been around for sometime, more recently it is being used extensively as an ingredient in "Dude Food" a style of cuisine increasingly popular with Geneartion Y and the new breed of up and coming chefs.
